Tiki, with respect I disagree, well about the model that is. I drive a rt for work and yes the torque is awesome, but the horsepower isn't there for the heavier model. I'd save for the 392. With a tune on the v6 you're going to come very close to the horsepower of a rt, but not the torque. And with about 200-250 pound lighter engine.
The Challenger's standard V6 engine gets the job done, even if it sounds rather coarse, and it can shuttle the car from zero to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. The eight-speed automatic transmission delivers smooth and prompt shifts, and the available all-wheel-drive system – a V6-only feature – greatly improves winter-weather traction.
If you’re intention is to mod anyways or have a faster car it’s always better to start with a better Platform. In charger/challenger cases I’m sure amount of money spent on mods in aggregate would be close to RT 5.7l trims and definitely not in power. Factory different is about 70 HP if I recall correctly. 2.
