Hey there all, I hope this is the right place to post this. Sorry if not. I've got the dreaded turbo whine on my 2.0 TDCI focus. It's a Mk2.5 2010 with 120k mls. Well serviced and looked after by all owners. Yes I drive harder than the average joe but i always let it cool down for a min when getting home.
My '06 Focus 1.8 TDCi has developed some power issues. It has now stopped 3 times, and needs a wait of between 5 - 10 minutes before it will start again. I took it to a garage, hoping they would run diagnostics, but they couldn't find anything (I don't believe they ever did full diagnostic) Pre ignition, the normal battery , oil and handbrake Once a 1.8TDCI gets air into its fuel lines, it will usually not restart without priming. Which means disconnecting fuel lines and using a pump or priming bulb. It is possible there is a slight leak in a fuel pipe or the filter housing. This could let just a trace of air in, which will increase as the tank level drops. 7oLJ.
